Vivienne Westwood took the opportunity to preview a range of limited edition bags created through the Ethical Fashion Africa Programme in collaboration with the International Trade Centre. These bags are handmade in Nairobi. All bags are created using recycled roadside advertisements, banners and safaritents. The women (7000) who created these bags are single mothers, widow, HIV/AIDS victims and those who living in extreme poverty. The project is project of the World Trade Centre that works with distributors and high-end designers who source fashion and lifestyle products from marginalized communities of women and micro-producers in Africa. On this way some of the poorest people in the world have acces to a job and an income.
